A healthy diet is one made of a balanced combination of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals in the appropriate quantities, quality and within the correct caloric value for you. A healthy diet has many health benefits. When you make healthier food choices, you consume nutrient dense foods that will ensure adequate intake of all nutrients and minimal intake of the wrong food e.g. Bad cholesterol (triglycerides and low density lipoproteins). Staying in health means that you do everything humanly possible to prevent the onslaught of any of these illnesses.
